DEEP SEA VIDEO RECORDER - MD-DSVR

The MARINE DATA DSVR (Deep Sea Video Recorder) is a new and innovative design of self-contained, harsh-environment video recording system designed for marine research and investigation. It uses Compact Flash® media to store MPEG2 video and has no moving parts. The DSVR is supplied with a low-light sensitive camera and connecting cable.
The DSVR is a remote, self-contained system that is designed to work under harsh underwater conditions with low light levels, in deep sea water and without the need for auxiliary lighting. The DSVR may be attached directly to fishing gear. The system is designed to be easy to use on board a research vessel. The DSVR will record optimal video footage underwater at sea in a harsh marine environment through using the best available technologies. The system does not need auxiliary lighting. In many cases, lights influence the behaviour of fish and other marine animals. The DSVR is able to record fish behaviour without the influence of invasive lighting. The DSVR allows instant playback access to any point in the recorded video without rewinding. This allows informed project decisions to be taken, based on the video, while out in the field. The system does not require a specialist operator; the DSVR is designed to be used by anyone and get excellent results. Simple and effective archiving and distribution of video footage is achieved with DVD-compliant MPEG2 video. The DSVR is a cost-effective and practical alternative to a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) or divers.
