Marine Data Returns from Seatrade Middle East Maritime 2008
- SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, 2008

Managing Director - Tim Ingram

Sales & Marketing Director - Adrian Yelland
Adrian and I would like to thank everybody who visited our stand at the Seatrade exhibition in Dubai in December 2008. We had a magnificent turnout and really appreciate your time spent with us.
This was a great opportunity for you all to meet our newly appointed Sales and Marketing Director Adrian Yelland who was very pleased to meet up with many old friends and make new ones. Adrian is looking forward to working with you and exploring your requirements for Marine Data Products
We had great interest across the range of our NMEA input repeaters and of course our newly launched customised compass repeaters for the high-end leisure yacht market. Many of our visitors from that sector and the commercial sector found the mix of carbon fibre and diamonds an exciting concept!
As usual, we were overwhelmed by your interest in our TMC (Transmitting Magnetic Compass) systems. This product range goes from strength to strength in popularity and look forward to new business in 2009.
As the security of ships in open seas become more of greatest concern, it was of no surprise that our newly launched MD800K watertight, high resolution and high light sensitive CCTV camera was of great interest. This camera can work at night in natural light and greatly reduces the need for an infra-red source.
Our MD76 range of Heading Monitors continues to be of popular interest. The MD76/1 and MD52A/X electromagnetic sensor combination operates independently to trigger an alarm if your ship were to unexpectedly veer off course, should the ships Gyro or autopilot fail. The MD76/8's concept is the same as the /1 except it reads a Heading reference from our NMEA signal based TMC or ships Gyro compass.
Our MD-DSVR Deep Sea Video Recorder is always growing in popularity. The sales this year has been encouraging where fishing research has shown the main interest. However, ship security is of prime importance these days, it was not surprising that this product had its share of attention for underwater surveillance applications. Again the low light level capability enables operation to 500m without external light or infra-red sources!
Due to the volume of visitors to our stand, it was unfortunate that we ran out of some Datasheets, specifically the Marine Data Transmitting Magnetic Compass System Datasheet, MD/TMC, which contains a very useful system diagram. Therefore, I apologise again and ask you to visit our website where you will find the information of interest under the relevant sections.
We also had the opportunity during the show to meet our new potential representatives for Dubai and the UAE and would like to thank them for their hospitality during the week. Please monitor the news section on our website for further announcements concerning appointments.
We would like to say a special thank you to you all again for visiting our stand and showing your interest in Marine Data Products. We look forward to serving you in the New Year.
Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
Tim Ingram.
