About us

A small company, based on the south coast of England, Marine Data has gained a worldwide reputation in the field of supplying navigation systems. An expert design and engineering team, supported by an experienced research and development department, have been instrumental in providing innovative solutions to complex requirements.
Marine Data's Electromagnetic Compass provides accurate headings at speeds of up to 70 knots and rates of turn up to 20°/sec. This unit has been developed to improve correction facilities and hence to reduce deviation effects caused by the magnetic influence of the craft. The compactness of the complete system makes it particularly appropriate where the size of the craft makes it physically impossible or financially imprudent to install a gyro.
Navigating the world with technology
The Transmitting Magnetic Compass is a cost effective, easy to install system with the ability to transmit accurate heading information. The sensor can either be mounted to an already fitted magnetic compass or to a compass supplied as part of the complete system. The use of an off-course alarm can give early indication of problems allowing time for the requisite action to be taken before dangerous situations can occur.

A full range of digital, tape and varying size dial repeaters are available. Recent developments have included a compact (100mm diameter) dial repeater, a four-digit digital repeater and a dual-dial bearing repeater.
Alongside its talent for providing innovative solutions Marine Data puts a great deal of emphasis on quality and quality procedures. With customers demanding extremely high standards the company has responded by putting into effect a quality system which is approved to ISO 9002.
